Senior Software Engineer - Profiles, Lists and Segments
The Senior Software Engineer position at Klaviyo focuses on enhancing the core customer data experiences, specifically profiles, lists, and real-time segments. In this role, the engineer will design and build scalable systems that empower customers to manage and activate their data efficiently. Collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and other platform teams, the engineer will define project scopes, translate complex data and user experience challenges into practical solutions, and develop intuitive workflows that instill confidence in audience management. The position emphasizes frontend development, focusing on creating thoughtful, reusable components and seamless user experiences using technologies such as TypeScript, React, Python, and Django.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in full-stack development, with strong proficiency in React, Redux, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, along with a solid understanding of general web best practices. A proven track record of delivering and deploying AI-powered or AI-accelerated work is essential. Experience in conducting code reviews and implementing robust testing cycles using automated testing frameworks, including end-to-end and integration tests (e.g., Cypress, Pytest), is required. Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, as well as the ability to evolve APIs and data models to support product success, is also necessary. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, from requirements and edge cases to implementation and testing, and is motivated by solving challenging problems collaboratively. A history of leading complex, multi-quarter projects involving cross-team collaboration and accountability for outcomes is highly valued.
Klaviyo offers a competitive base salary ranging from $148,000 to $222,000, determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location. The total compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and well-being benefits based on eligibility. The company supports a hybrid work model, with the role based in Boston, Massachusetts, and may require up to 10% travel for purposes such as new hire onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
