Senior Software Engineer, Cash App Banking

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cash App Banking team at Block, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing consumer financial products. Our mission is to make Cash App the primary platform for customers to store, manage, and transfer money, offering a comprehensive suite of banking services. This includes a variety of deposit and transfer options, savings tools, and exclusive benefits, all designed to provide a fast and reliable user experience.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leaders to scope, plan, design, and implement new features while maintaining existing functionalities. You will lead critical technical and design discussions, ensuring that our systems integrate seamlessly within our microservice and event-driven architectures. Your contributions will be instrumental in driving architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements to enhance system robustness and scalability.

The ideal candidate will have over eight years of software development experience, including at least one year leading large-scale projects. A strong background in designing and building creative solutions to complex problems is essential. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering is required. Proficiency in Java and Kotlin, along with experience in AWS, HTTP, JSON, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and related technologies, is highly desirable.

Block offers a competitive compensation package, with salaries ranging from $153,000 to $270,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
