Onboarding Project Manager
The Onboarding Project Manager at Square plays a pivotal role in guiding mid-market and enterprise-level sellers through the technical onboarding and activation process. This position is integral to Square's Global Seller Onboarding (GSO) team, which collaborates directly with the company's largest and most complex clients to ensure they fully leverage Square's suite of products and services. By delivering a seamless and scalable onboarding experience, the Onboarding Project Manager contributes significantly to Square's growth strategy and enhances the enterprise seller journey from initial solution design to full activation.
Key responsibilities include engaging with sellers during the pre-sale phase to support discovery, solution validation, and the positioning of Square's professional services offerings. The Onboarding Project Manager will manage multiple complex onboarding projects concurrently, balancing competing priorities and timelines. This role requires building strong cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to design and implement complex Square deployments. Additionally, the manager will proactively identify and manage risks throughout the onboarding lifecycle, ensuring consistent stakeholder communication and successful outcomes.
Candidates should have over six years of experience in customer-facing roles, with at least four years in project management, implementation, or onboarding. The role demands a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and to distill complex requirements into tailored solutions. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly in conveying technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in the POS, payments, or broader technology industry is required, and familiarity with RESTful APIs is considered a bonus. Proficiency in Spanish or French is also advantageous.
