Senior Software Engineer - Analytics Data Engineering
As a Senior Software Engineer on Klaviyo's AI & Analytics Data Enablement team, you will be instrumental in building and owning the data foundations that power our Analytics and AI engine. Your work will involve designing resilient pipelines and analytics models that transform billions of events and domain objects into trusted, actionable insights for Analytics and AI product features. This role is pivotal in helping our customers understand the performance of their marketing efforts and enhancing AI and Analytics experiences.
In this position, you will lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable data pipelines and core tables essential for customer-facing analytics features and AI models. Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and AI/ML teams, you will define clear, consistent metrics and data contracts that align with business goals and product outcomes. Additionally, you will mentor other engineers in data engineering best practices, code quality, observability, and system design, contributing to shared libraries, patterns, and tooling that improve developer velocity across R&D.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of software engineering experience, with at least four years focused on data engineering. A strong track record in building and operating data pipelines and analytics models in production is essential. Deep proficiency in large-scale SQL and data modeling for analytics, along with strong programming skills in a modern language commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python), is required. Familiarity with orchestration and transformation tooling (e.g., Airflow, EMR, Spark/pyspark) and experience working with modern data platforms and processing frameworks are also important. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead complex projects spanning multiple components and engineers are crucial.
Klaviyo offers a competitive base salary ranging from $148,000 to $222,000 USD, determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
