Senior Security Engineer
OpenTable is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic team in Toronto, Canada. This role will initially be remote, with plans to transition to a hybrid in-office schedule, working two days per week in our downtown Toronto office. As a leader in the restaurant technology industry, OpenTable connects millions of diners with over 60,000 restaurant partners worldwide, empowering restaurants to thrive and diners to discover and book the perfect table for every occasion.
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting threat modeling and security design reviews for new and evolving application features, APIs, and integrations. You will provide actionable guidance to engineering and product teams, translate business requirements into security requirements, perform risk assessments, and define compensating controls as needed. Additionally, you will build and maintain automation to scale the design review process and streamline vulnerability triage.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of combined information security experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. A fast learning curve and a track record of partnering effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve security goals are essential. Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Java, Python) and a solid understanding of network and web protocols are required. Experience with intra-company and third-party APIs, as well as technical certifications within information security (such as CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, OSWE), are considered advantageous.
OpenTable offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 CAD for this Toronto-based role.
