Senior Network Engineer
IEX is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This role involves designing, implementing, and operating high-performance, low-latency networks, including our new Options Exchange. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where microseconds matter and will play a crucial role in ensuring the resilience, scalability, and security of our infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include participating in the engineering process to design and manage resilient network platforms, automating deployment and maintenance of network systems, and monitoring network performance to ensure reliability. The role also involves configuring and maintaining high-performance switches, routers, and firewalls from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless network operations.
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in networking, focusing on high-performance, low-latency networks. Strong experience with multicast and network automation platforms like Ansible and Python is required. A background in the financial services industry, particularly in high-frequency trading or exchange environments, is preferred. Advanced understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VRF, STP, IGMP, and PIM, is essential.
The starting annual base pay for this New York-based position is between $225,000 and $250,000, with eligibility for bonus and equity. The actual base pay is dependent upon factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
