Senior Manager, R&D FP&A
The Senior Manager of R&D Finance at Klaviyo will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and GTS leadership to oversee financial planning, investment analysis, and operational support within the R&D organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that innovation scales responsibly and efficiently, aligning product strategy with financial discipline and long-term value creation.
Key responsibilities include serving as a strategic finance partner to R&D leadership, translating product strategies into clear financial implications, and providing insights into headcount planning and long-term investment strategies. The role also involves leading annual planning and quarterly forecasting for R&D expenses, developing detailed headcount models aligned with product roadmaps, and ensuring accurate forecasting of compensation, infrastructure, tooling, and vendor expenditures.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in finance roles, such as investment banking or venture capital, with significant operational experience within FP&A or finance at software companies with a SaaS business model. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role is required. The candidate should be a proactive finance leader who enjoys partnering with technical stakeholders, is detail-oriented yet capable of strategic thinking, and possesses strong communication skills to translate financial concepts for non-financial audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Pigment, and Netsuite is also expected.
The base salary for this position ranges from $156,000 to $234,000 USD annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
