Senior Machine Learning Engineer
ShopMy is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to develop and scale production-grade machine learning systems focused on personalization, search, and recommendations. This role involves close collaboration with the co-founders and a high-impact team to design, build, and deploy end-to-end ML solutions, encompassing data ingestion, modeling, deployment, monitoring, and iteration. The position offers an opportunity to define and establish ShopMy's foundational ML infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing ML pipelines from raw data through model inference and orchestration, developing and deploying ML-powered APIs and services for user-facing features, and managing the full lifecycle of ML systems, including experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration. The engineer will also focus on creating systems for personalization, search, and recommendations, working with embedding-based systems and vector representations, and rigorously measuring and iterating based on real-world performance.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or Machine Learning, along with over four years of experience building or contributing to production ML systems. Experience with embeddings, retrieval, ranking, or recommendation systems is essential, as is the ability to deliver end-to-end solutions beyond just models or analyses. Strong programming skills in Python, proficiency in data querying and manipulation using Pandas and SQL, and comfort working across data, modeling, APIs, and infrastructure are required. Experience operating ML systems at a meaningful scale in either startup or large company environments is also important.
Compensation for this role ranges from $145,000 to $225,000 USD, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as scope and responsibilities, relevant work experience, key skills, education, training, and business considerations. In addition to base salary, every employee receives equity in ShopMy.
