Senior Legal Counsel, Gulf / Levant & Saudi Arabia

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal operations for its Gulf-Levant and Saudi Arabia Affiliates within the Middle East, Africa, and Russia (MEAR) Region. This pivotal role involves providing strategic legal guidance to affiliate management teams, ensuring compliance, and supporting business initiatives in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

The Senior Legal Counsel will advise on various legal aspects related to AbbVie's products, including regulatory matters, advertising compliance, local manufacturing, distributor management, and commercial negotiations. Responsibilities encompass developing and negotiating complex agreements, offering counsel to departments such as Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access, and proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks.

Candidates must possess a law degree from a reputable university and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or a highly regulated industry. Extensive legal experience in the UAE or Saudi Arabia is essential. The role requires strategic leadership capabilities, the ability to manage multiple matters independently, and strong communication and negotiation skills within multicultural and cross-functional teams.
