AbbVie is seeking a (Senior) Legal Counsel to join its Legal Therapeutics team in Wiesbaden, Germany. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to various departments, including Research & Development, Operations, and Commercial, ensuring compliance and facilitating innovative projects.

The primary responsibilities include advising Brand Teams and management on implementing and expanding innovative projects, negotiating and drafting complex contracts, particularly for long-term collaborations and reimbursement negotiations with the German Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds. Additional duties encompass supporting the development of pricing strategies for innovative pharmaceuticals, contributing to the creation of promotional materials, and independently handling competition law disputes. The position also involves collaborating with the Compliance Department to develop, interpret, and implement internal guidelines, regularly training business colleagues on key legal topics such as competition and antitrust law, and participating in international projects in coordination with AbbVie's global legal department. Representation of AbbVie in legal disputes with the assistance of external lawyers and engagement in industry committees and dialogues with public institutions and interest groups are also part of the role. Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 10% of working time) is required.

Candidates should possess a completed first and second state examination in law in Germany; additional qualifications like an LL.M. or MBA are advantageous. Relevant professional experience in a law firm or company, preferably within the healthcare sector, is essential. A strong entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on practical implementation is desired. Fluency in both German and English is required. Experience or a keen interest in the following legal areas is beneficial:

- Contract and commercial law
- Reimbursement law (Social Code Book V)
- Advertising law (Medicinal Products Advertising Act)
- Anti-corruption law (Criminal Code)
- Competition and antitrust law (national and European)
- Pharmaceutical law
