Senior Lead Software Engineer - Developer Infrastructure
Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join our Developer Infrastructure team, a pivotal group dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our engineering processes. This role involves architecting and overseeing foundational services that empower our product teams to deliver high-quality software swiftly and confidently. As a key player in our rapidly growing company, you'll contribute to building a robust platform that supports personalized marketing automation for businesses worldwide.
In this position, you will define and execute technical strategies to improve our backend architecture, products, infrastructure, and processes. Your responsibilities include managing and optimizing backend and third-party dependencies, ensuring they are secure, performant, and reliable. You'll oversee the planning and seamless rollout of major software releases and updates, managing the entire lifecycle from design to deployment in production environments. Additionally, you'll drive initiatives to enhance developer productivity by improving platform cycle time metrics and reducing engineering toil.
The ideal candidate possesses a BA or BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 12 years of experience in software development, particularly in operating and scaling complex distributed systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Go and Python, along with expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), is essential. Strong problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills are crucial, as is a demonstrated ability to define technical strategies and influence architectural decisions across multiple teams. Experience with developer productivity tooling, including CI/CD systems and build environments, is also required.
Klaviyo offers a competitive base salary ranging from $216,000 to $324,000 USD, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and work location.
