Senior Fraud Data Analyst
Capital on Tap is seeking a Senior Fraud Data Analyst to join our Fraud team in London. This role involves direct responsibility for our fraud systems, encompassing both onboarding and card fraud, and is pivotal as we expand our product offerings. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week in our London office.
The successful candidate will write complex SQL queries to analyze transaction and customer data, identify fraud signals, and detect emerging attack patterns. Responsibilities include designing and implementing fraud detection rules, setting data-driven thresholds, and iterating based on live performance. The role also involves understanding customer behavior across card and lending data to assess fraud risk and contributing to the development of machine learning-based detection strategies.
Applicants should have a strong background as a data analyst in a fintech or digital lending environment, with experience handling large, complex datasets. Proficiency in SQL, including the use of CTEs and window functions, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving data issues and possess experience managing analytical problems from inception to deployment. Comfort in a fast-paced, small team environment is also important.
Preferred qualifications include direct experience in card fraud within a bank, card issuer, or fintech, familiarity with card fraud systems and related data (such as Visa fraud platforms, CNP fraud, 3DS/SCA, PSD2 compliance), and experience with APP fraud or faster payment fraud systems.
