Senior Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A)

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) at Ursa Major plays a pivotal role in guiding the company's financial strategy, working closely with the Director of Finance. This position is integral to Ursa Major's mission of revolutionizing aerospace and defense propulsion systems, including hypersonics, solid rocket motors, and satellite maneuvering technologies.

Key responsibilities include partnering with senior leadership to develop financial analyses and models that evaluate strategic business initiatives, capital investments, and new products and services. The analyst will conduct real-time cost-benefit analyses, assess client and business segment profitability using activity-based costing methods, and contribute to the annual planning process and ongoing quarterly forecasts.

Candidates must possess a BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and have 5-7 years of professional experience. Essential skills include advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, experience with FP&A software such as Abacum, and familiarity with ERP systems like Odoo. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication across all management levels, and a high degree of maturity and diplomacy are also required.

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $119,000, determined by the candidate's education, experience, and skills.
