The Senior Data Analyst, Credit Risk role at Grab is a pivotal position within the GFin Lending team, focusing on expanding financial access across Malaysia. This team is responsible for developing and managing Grab's consumer lending products, including Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and Cash Loans, ensuring they are both accessible to users and sustainable for the business. The role is based onsite in the Petaling Jaya office.

In this role, the Senior Data Analyst will lead the development and implementation of retail credit risk strategies to achieve profit and loss targets and maximize risk-adjusted returns. Key responsibilities include defining risk segments and whitelisting logic, ensuring accurate policy implementation in the Credit Decision Engine through rigorous user acceptance testing. The analyst will also conduct proactive monitoring and in-depth analyses using SQL and Python to assess portfolio performance and identify trends. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Data Analytics is essential to align technical data pipelines with credit strategies and business growth objectives. Additionally, the role involves managing risk model parameters, backtesting, and provisioning calculations to ensure accurate financial exposure reporting.

The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in credit risk management for high-volume consumer products like BNPL, Cash Loans, or Credit Cards, preferably within a banking or fintech environment. Proficiency in SQL and Python is mandatory for independent data extraction and analysis. The candidate should possess strategic acumen, with experience in contributing to credit policies, supporting risk segmentation, and executing large-scale automated decisioning strategies. A working knowledge of Credit Decision Engines, including rule implementation and testing, is required. Familiarity with Malaysian credit infrastructure, such as CTOS and CCRIS, and experience collaborating with stakeholders across various departments are also important.
