The Senior Counsel, Global Commercial Legal - Immunology at AbbVie is a pivotal role within the company's Immunology business unit. In this capacity, the Senior Counsel will collaborate closely with departments such as Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs. Key responsibilities include advising on new product and indication launches, patient support models, marketing strategies, promotional activities, scientific exchange, regulatory submissions, and managed healthcare contracting strategies. The role also involves providing counsel on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues, including FDA regulations, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, OIG guidance, the PhRMA Code, the Sunshine Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and competition law.
Candidates for this position should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and be admitted to the bar in at least one U.S. state. A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, which can include in-house roles at pharmaceutical companies, positions at nationally recognized law firms specializing in life sciences or healthcare, or experience with government agencies. Preferred qualifications include a background in advising the biopharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry, a strong understanding of pharmaceutical laws and regulations impacting drug registration and promotion, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities, are essential.
The compensation for this role ranges from $156,000 to $296,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
