The Seattle office of Morgan Lewis is seeking a 1L IP-Technology Fellow for their 2026 and 2027 Summer Associate Programs. Morgan Lewis is a global law firm with over 250 lawyers and professionals, recognized for having one of the largest and most comprehensive intellectual property (IP) practices worldwide. The 1L IP Fellowship aims to develop outstanding law students into the next generation of IP lawyers by offering an immersive, two-summer experience that provides meaningful insight into the firm's practice and culture.

As a 1L IP-Technology Fellow, you will participate in the firm's Summer Associate Programs, engaging in various IP-related tasks and projects. Fellows will receive a 2L summer associate position, contingent upon successful completion of the 1L summer and strong academic performance. Additional benefits include a $25,000 bonus upon successful completion of the 2L summer and acceptance of an entry-level associate position in the IP practice, reimbursement of expenses associated with taking and passing the patent bar exam prior to joining the firm, and a $5,000 bonus upon successfully passing the patent bar exam.

Applicants should be enrolled full-time in an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2028. A background in technology or life sciences is preferred, with degrees such as B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics, or an advanced degree in life sciences. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to exceptional client service. A genuine interest in a career with Morgan Lewis's IP practice and U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States are also required.

For positions in Washington State, the salary for the Summer Associate position is $4,326 per week. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan, and participation in company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance plans. Additional benefits include paid holidays, personal days, sick leave, vacation, bereavement leave, paid parental leave, and paid pregnancy disability leave.
