Sales Engineering, Sr Staff (Enterprise)
Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Sales Engineer to join our Enterprise Sales team. This role bridges the technical and commercial aspects of our application security solutions, working closely with customers and the sales team to demonstrate the value of our security testing portfolio. Black Duck is a pioneer in application security, providing solutions that help organizations build secure, high-quality software by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in proprietary code, open-source components, and application behavior.
The Senior Staff Sales Engineer will partner with account teams to develop and execute technical sales strategies for application security testing solutions. Responsibilities include leading technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept implementations for prospects and customers. The role also involves providing technical consultation on static application security testing (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), and dynamic application security testing (DAST) solutions. Additionally, the engineer will analyze customer environments and requirements to design and propose tailored security solutions.
Candidates should have over eight years of experience in application security sales engineering, solution architecture, or related technical pre-sales roles. A strong understanding of application security concepts, vulnerabilities, and testing methodologies is essential. Experience with SAST, SCA, or DAST technologies is required, along with a technical background in software development, security engineering, or a related field. Excellent problem-solving abilities and outstanding communication skills are also necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences.
The compensation for this position ranges from $141,000 to $211,800 annually.
