QA Platform Engineer
The QA Platform Engineer at Capital on Tap plays a pivotal role within the Platform Engineering team, focusing on ensuring the reliability and security of software delivery across the organization. This position is based in Porto Matosinhos, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days in the office. Capital on Tap is a financial platform offering a range of products, including business credit cards and spend management tools, serving over 200,000 customers globally.
In this role, the engineer will develop a deep understanding of infrastructure changes and their unique testing challenges. Responsibilities include defining frameworks and processes to validate infrastructure changes consistently across all environments, building automated validation pipelines to detect issues before they reach production, and establishing standards for infrastructure testing. Additionally, the engineer will design and maintain dedicated test environments on Azure, manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and collaborate with QA and Product Engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure.
Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles, with exposure to QA or quality engineering practices. Essential skills include hands-on experience with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP), proficiency in writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, familiarity with policy-as-code and infrastructure testing approaches, solid understanding of containerization and Kubernetes, and experience with CI/CD pipelines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are also important.
