Procurement Manager (Data Centers)
The Procurement Manager at Galaxy leads the owner-furnished procurement program for large-scale data center development. This role is responsible for planning, sourcing, contracting, and managing the delivery of long-lead equipment and technical service packages that directly impact critical project schedules. The Procurement Manager collaborates closely with Construction, Project Management, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and services with favorable commercial terms.
Key responsibilities include defining early procurement requirements for owner-furnished equipment and service packages, developing category and sourcing strategies aligned with project schedules and technical needs, and translating technical specifications into clear scopes of work and procurement schedules. The role also involves leading vendor prequalification, managing competitive sourcing events, analyzing proposals, negotiating pricing and delivery schedules, and preparing award recommendations for leadership review.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Integrated Supply Chain Management, Procurement Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of procurement experience supporting hyperscale, hardware, energy, utilities, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects. Experience in purchasing long-lead equipment such as electrical gear, mechanical systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems is essential. Strong negotiation skills, understanding of procurement best practices, and excellent communication and analytical abilities are also required.
