Privacy & AI Counsel
Axon is seeking a Privacy & AI Counsel to join its Legal team, focusing on integrating privacy and responsible AI practices across the company's products and global operations. This role involves collaborating with product, AI, and employment teams to translate global privacy regulations into actionable guidance within a dynamic environment.
The Privacy & AI Counsel will be responsible for supporting privacy and AI compliance in Axon's products and operations, providing counsel on ethical and legal considerations related to AI training data and outputs, and implementing privacy principles across products and internal processes. Key tasks include conducting impact assessments, managing data subject access requests, drafting data processing agreements, and reviewing third-party or sub-processor engagements.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to at least one U.S. state bar. A minimum of three years of experience in privacy or data protection law is required, preferably advising on technology, SaaS businesses, or AI-related products in highly regulated industries. Proficiency in global privacy regulations, such as GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, and LGPD, is essential. Experience in drafting data processing agreements and managing cross-border data transfers is also necessary.
The compensation package includes a competitive salary ranging from $122,500 to $200,000 per year, complemented by bonuses, stock awards, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
