Axiom is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Energy Lawyer to join our team on-site in Houston, Texas. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to our global clients in the energy industry, focusing on oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include advising clients on regulatory compliance matters related to oil and gas operations, including environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use issues. The role also involves drafting and negotiating various oil and gas agreements, such as leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements, and pipeline contracts. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations is a critical aspect of this position.

Candidates must possess an active bar license in at least one U.S. state, preferably Texas, and have a minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law with a focus on oil and gas law. Experience with energy-related data center transactions, including acquisitions, leases, and commercial contracts such as power purchase agreements, is essential. A strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws governing the oil and gas industry, including the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act, is required. Experience with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements and familiarity with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations are also necessary.

Preferred qualifications include experience advising clients on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are important, as is the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with energy commodities, particularly pipelines and terminals, and counseling on energy compliance matters is advantageous.

The estimated total compensation for this full-time role ranges from $104,500 to $325,000 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
