NPI Engineer
As the NPI Engineer at Wayve, you will lead the successful rollout of new hardware and software products and features. This role bridges product development, engineering, safety, and fleet operations to ensure seamless launches that meet performance, quality, and user adoption goals. You will ensure that cross-functional teams deliver production-ready and scalable solutions to accelerate the AI development loop.
Key responsibilities include driving programs toward an agile hardware/software development cycle to meet program-level milestones. You will develop and refine a scalable NPI framework tailored to agile development cycles. Partnering closely with product managers and engineering leads, you will ensure development roadmaps align with release readiness criteria, quality standards, and operational scalability. Additionally, you will coordinate launch readiness across Field Engineering, Reliability Engineering, and Fleet Operations to ensure smooth transitions of new products.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. You should have over 5 years of experience in hardware/software product development, technical program management, or product operations, with at least 3 years in NPI. A strong understanding of modern software development practices, such as Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps, is essential. Familiarity with hardware development practices, including BOM, Manufacturing Readiness, SOPs, and process development, is also required. Effective cross-functional collaboration skills and strong analytical abilities are crucial.
This full-time role is based in our Sunnyvale office.
