Mid Java Engineer
Box is seeking a Mid-Level Java Engineer to join our E-Commerce team in Warsaw, Poland. Box is a leader in Intelligent Content Management, providing a platform that enables organizations to collaborate, manage content lifecycles, secure critical information, and transform business workflows with enterprise AI. As a member of the E-Commerce team, you will play a pivotal role in developing backend systems that facilitate customer purchases and subscription management, directly impacting a significant portion of Box's revenue.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-scale Java services to enhance self-service experiences and support Box's global expansion. Key focus areas include modernizing the tech stack to improve performance and developer productivity, enhancing pricing and discount systems, and expanding backend capabilities to drive new recurring revenue. Your day-to-day activities will involve writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, collaborating with designers and product managers, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting software defects, and contributing to Agile development processes.
The ideal candidate will have over four years of professional software development experience in Java, with a strong understanding of software design principles, testing, and code review practices. Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems is essential, along with a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design. An enthusiasm for applied AI, including a willingness to experiment with AI agents and tools, is highly valued. Additionally, the candidate should possess an ownership mindset, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality work and the ability to guide and mentor high-performing engineering teams. Professional proficiency in English is required.
