Machine Learning Engineer, AV Engineering
As a Machine Learning Engineer in the AV Engineering team at Wayve, you will play a pivotal role in developing and refining AI driver models for Level 2 to Level 4 autonomous driving systems. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technologies, contributing directly to high-priority commercial projects.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing AI driver model architectures and training algorithms to enhance safety behaviors across various levels of autonomous driving. You will oversee critical aspects of the training model lifecycle, such as evaluation strategies, success metrics, and iterative planning. Additionally, you will curate and manage both real-world and synthetic datasets to teach specific driving behaviors, and conduct thorough analyses of on-road and offline experiments to drive continuous improvements through successive training cycles.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in training deep learning models with comprehensive ownership of the process, including data handling, training, evaluation, and iteration. Experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments, particularly within safety-critical systems, is essential. While not mandatory, experience with reinforcement learning, end-to-end driving models, transformer networks, and familiarity with PyTorch Lightning training infrastructure are highly desirable.
This full-time role is based in Herzliya, Israel, and operates under a hybrid working policy that combines in-office collaboration with remote work to foster innovation, culture, and learning. Wayve is committed to creating an inclusive work environment and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
