Morgan & Morgan, a prominent personal injury law firm headquartered in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a qualified Litigation Assistant to join their Fort Myers, Florida office. Established in 1988, the firm has grown to over 6,000 employees, including more than 1,000 attorneys, with offices across all 50 states.

As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team by managing daily operations and providing administrative assistance. Your responsibilities will include scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, and coordinating logistics. Additionally, you will assist in collecting, examining, and organizing evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts, will also be part of your duties. You will research regulations, laws, and legal articles to aid in the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice. Managing client billing, including preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney, will be essential. Effective communication with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions is also required. Maintaining organized paper or electronic filing systems for documents is a key aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable. A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department, is required. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred. The candidate should be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage a fast-paced workload with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in calendar management for depositions, mediations, and hearings, and knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 words per minute is required.
