Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Litigation Assistant to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the firm's daily operations and providing essential support to our legal team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a firm committed to advocating for consumer rights and delivering justice to our clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and legal tasks. Key duties include scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and legal documents, and implement administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, you will collect and organize evidence for attorney review, draft and proofread legal documents, conduct legal research, manage client billing, and coordinate meetings with clients and witnesses.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal is required, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or related practice areas is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in scheduling depositions and hearings, and familiarity with motions, discovery, evidence, and court procedures are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute are also required.

This is an on-site position, providing the opportunity to be fully immersed in the work environment and gain direct experience alongside the team. Being in the office facilitates quicker acclimation for new team members and fosters a sense of connection within the firm.
