Octus, a leading global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics, is seeking a highly motivated Leveraged Finance Reporter to join our dynamic team. Since 2013, Octus has empowered professionals across hedge funds, investment banking, management consulting, and law firms with timely and accurate credit market insights. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission by delivering in-depth coverage of primary leveraged finance and deal origination.

As a Leveraged Finance Reporter, you will be responsible for expanding Octus' coverage in the leveraged finance sector. Your day-to-day activities will include developing and maintaining relationships with key M&A banking, leveraged loan, and high-yield bond investor contacts. You will identify and report on emerging trends and developments in M&A, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), and private credit markets. Collaboration with financial and legal analysts, as well as other reporters across multiple sectors, will be essential to provide comprehensive and insightful reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience writing about M&A, debt capital markets, and preferably leveraged finance and LBOs. A strong interest in deal valuations, credit quality, and their intersection with private equity and limited partner (LP) formation is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced newsroom environment are crucial. The candidate should be able to write clearly and concisely under deadline pressure and derive trends from issuance, pricing, and other market patterns. A passion for obtaining exclusive information through outreach and cultivation of sources among sophisticated market participants is highly valued. The candidate must be collaborative and enjoy working in a multicultural team environment.

Octus offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Employees enjoy comprehensive health benefits, matched 401(k) and pension plans, generous paid time off, parental leave, gym subsidies, educational reimbursements for career development, recognition programs, and pet-friendly offices in the U.S.

At Octus, we foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and customer-centric innovation. Our core values—Action Oriented, Customer First Mindset, Effective Team Players, and Driven to Excel—define our organizational ethos. Joining our team means being part of a growth-driven fintech company where your contributions have a direct impact on our clients' success and the broader financial community.
