As a Lead Software Engineer, Reliability at Klaviyo, you will set the technical direction and lead the reliability strategy for the company's most critical platforms. This role involves ensuring that Klaviyo's systems are reliable, scalable, and sustainable, while enabling rapid product development across the organization. The position is based in Dublin, Ireland, and follows a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and evolution of foundational, security-critical services with strong guarantees around availability, scalability, latency, and fault tolerance. You will drive the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices across engineering teams, including defining Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets. Additionally, you will identify systemic reliability risks and architectural bottlenecks, leading cross-team initiatives to address them with durable, preventative solutions.

The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader with deep systems expertise and strong judgment. You should have experience operating containerized workloads and platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) in production, including deployment strategies, scaling behavior, and service networking. Proficiency in writing and maintaining production-quality code in languages such as Python or Go is essential. Experience with infrastructure as code and declarative configuration (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes manifests) is also required. Strong hands-on experience with observability platforms and alerting strategies that reflect real customer and service impact is crucial.

Klaviyo offers a competitive base salary for this position, ranging from €112,000 to €168,000 EUR annually. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility. The company supports work authorization and relocation for this position.

Klaviyo is committed to building inclusive teams and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds. The company values tackling meaningful engineering challenges and seeks individuals who take ownership, learn continuously, and collaborate openly. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly visible projects that directly influence how Klaviyo builds software and how customers experience the platform every day.
