Lead Sales Engineer (Commercial)
Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our Commercial Sales team. This role bridges the technical and commercial aspects of our application security solutions, working closely with customers and the sales team to demonstrate the value of our security testing portfolio. The position is based in Burlington, MA, with a hybrid work arrangement.
The Lead Sales Engineer will partner with account teams to develop and execute technical sales strategies for application security testing solutions. Responsibilities include leading technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept implementations for prospects and customers. The role also involves providing technical consultation on static application security testing (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), and dynamic application security testing (DAST) solutions, as well as analyzing customer environments to design and propose security solutions.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in application security sales engineering, solution architecture, or a related technical pre-sales role. A strong understanding of application security concepts, vulnerabilities, and testing methodologies is essential, along with experience in SAST, SCA, or DAST technologies. Technical skills in software development or security engineering are required, as well as excellent problem-solving abilities and outstanding communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences.
