Lead Automation Engineer
The Lead Automation Engineer at Capital on Tap will be embedded within a mission team, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and UX to champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is pivotal in ensuring that quality is integrated from the outset, aligning with the company's commitment to delivering exceptional financial products for small businesses.
Key responsibilities include defining and owning the comprehensive testing strategy for specific domains such as payments, banking, or onboarding. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain robust automated tests across API, UI, and mobile platforms. Emphasizing a "Shift-Left" approach, they will collaborate with Product Owners and Developers from the refinement stage to embed quality early in the development process. Additionally, the role involves managing automation targets and utilizing data-driven insights to identify high-risk areas.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles, demonstrating success in leading quality initiatives within Agile teams. Proficiency in modern programming languages essential for automation, specifically C# or JavaScript/TypeScript, is required. Experience in testing complex financial systems, such as card issuing, transaction processing, or credit risk, is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with UI and API testing tools, familiarity with Azure and Git, and the ability to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines are also essential.
