Intern, Financial Planning and Analysis (Summer 2027)
Inspire Medical Systems Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Intern to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. This role offers an immersive, hands-on experience supporting the analytical engine behind the company's revenue and growth strategy. The intern will work alongside experienced financial analysts to build and refine models that quantify revenue growth drivers and evaluate account and physician performance. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated student aiming to translate classroom finance and analytics into real business impact.
Key responsibilities include assisting in building and maintaining financial models that isolate and quantify primary drivers of revenue growth, analyzing data to identify characteristics and behaviors that distinguish high-growth customers from stagnant ones, and evaluating how leading indicators and operational KPIs factor into future revenue and forecast accuracy. The intern will also compile data from multiple sources, perform variance and trend analysis, and build clear, accurate outputs for stakeholder review. Additionally, the role involves providing analytical support for forecasting, budgeting, and business review deliverables, as well as supporting special analyses and process-improvement initiatives as needed throughout the internship.
Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, with an expected graduation date following the completion of the internship. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Required skills include strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and building or working within financial models, a foundational understanding of core financial and accounting concepts, and demonstrated analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. The ability to organize, interpret, and draw insight from large data sets, effective written and verbal communication skills, and comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are also essential.
The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
