HIL Platform Scalability Engineer
The HIL Platform Scalability Engineer at Wayve will be instrumental in developing and scaling the first generation of verification and validation infrastructure, including automated Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems with sensor and vehicle system emulation. This role is critical to ensuring that HIL systems operate reliably across various programs and geographic locations, supporting the company's mission to advance autonomous driving technologies.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing observability systems to monitor the health, uptime, and utilization of HIL benches across multiple sites. The engineer will build tools and workflows to reduce bench downtime, increase availability, and minimize operational overhead. Managing the underlying infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security is also a core aspect of the role. Additionally, the position involves developing automation for bench configuration, tracking changes, maintaining version control, and integrating HIL systems into test automation, CI pipelines, and scheduling frameworks.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with test infrastructure, such as HIL or hardware/software test environments, is required. Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus is essential. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages, along with proficiency in Linux or Unix-based operating systems, are also necessary. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test scheduling systems, and orchestration tools is expected.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $209,700 to $298,200 annually, along with a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
