Wayve is seeking a Head of US Public Policy to lead its public policy initiatives in the United States, with an initial focus on California. This senior role involves developing and executing a comprehensive public policy strategy that aligns with Wayve's global objectives and commercial goals. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between Wayve and federal and state agencies, advocating for regulatory frameworks that facilitate the testing and deployment of autonomous vehicle technologies.

Key responsibilities include engaging with federal agencies such as the USDOT and NHTSA, as well as Congressional offices and national standards bodies, to promote policies that support safe autonomous vehicle operations. The role also entails building relationships with California state agencies, including the DMV and CPUC, and collaborating with industry partners, trade associations, and academic institutions to advance constructive policy outcomes. Additionally, the Head of US Public Policy will draft regulatory submissions, technical briefings, and policy whitepapers tailored for U.S. audiences.

Candidates should possess at least 8 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory affairs, with a proven track record of influencing U.S. federal and state policy outcomes. A deep understanding of the U.S. federal regulatory landscape for autonomous vehicles and transportation, particularly within California's political environment, is essential. Strong technical literacy in autonomous vehicles, AI, data, and safety is required, along with excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in designing and managing multi-state engagement programs is also highly desirable.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $238,800 to $329,300, along with equity and benefits.
