Head of Marketing Research
As Head of Marketing Research at Canva, you will lead the research function within the global marketing organization, shaping how insights inform strategy and decision-making at scale. This role is situated within the Marketing Strategy Centre of Excellence, collaborating across Marketing, Growth, International, and Product teams to ensure that research drives high-impact initiatives. Key responsibilities include defining research standards, methodologies, and best practices to guide teams in conducting high-quality research. You will build research capabilities across the marketing organization through education, coaching, and knowledge sharing, championing rigorous approaches that deliver actionable insights. Additionally, you will partner closely with the Head of Marketing Strategy to translate strategic questions into research plans, ensuring that insights effectively inform decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of experience in marketing research, with demonstrated experience leading research functions and building research capabilities across organizations. Deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies is essential, along with a proven track record of establishing research standards and frameworks. Strong leadership and coaching skills are required, as well as outstanding communication and storytelling abilities to synthesize complex data into clear insights. Experience managing global research programs and working across diverse markets is also important.
