As a Hardware Engineer at Wayve, you will be an integral part of our Hardware team, focusing on the development of next-generation autonomous driving compute platforms. This role emphasizes low-level electronics design, embedded systems, and high-performance compute integration, translating autonomy requirements into robust and scalable hardware systems. Wayve is a pioneering company in Embodied AI technology, dedicated to creating intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products for automakers, accelerating the transition from assisted to automated driving.

In this position, your key responsibilities will include designing and developing embedded electronics systems tailored for autonomous driving applications. You will architect and implement compute platforms optimized for machine learning workloads, collaborating closely with software and autonomy teams to enhance hardware performance, reliability, and scalability. Your role will also involve leading board-level design, bring-up, validation, and debugging across hardware and software boundaries, as well as developing high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, and USB within an automotive environment. Additionally, you will work alongside mechanical engineering teams to design robust electronics hardware and liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure design robustness and production readiness.

The ideal candidate will possess over seven years of experience in electronics or embedded systems design, with a strong background in board-level design, bring-up, and debugging. A deep understanding of embedded systems and compute architectures is essential, along with experience in high-speed digital interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, and USB. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C, C++, or Python, is required, as well as familiarity with Linux-based systems and embedded environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams are also crucial. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is expected.

Wayve offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where your contributions have a significant impact. We value diversity and encourage new perspectives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Joining our team provides the opportunity to work on groundbreaking solutions in autonomous driving technology, contributing to a smarter and safer future.
