FP&A Data Engineer
The FP&A Data Engineer role at Galaxy involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, financial models, and automated reporting systems across various business units, with a particular focus on trading and protocol services. This position is integral to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, directly contributing to management reporting for individual traders, teams, and company executives. Key responsibilities include architecting and owning the FP&A insights data warehouse to establish a single source of truth for firmwide management reporting, profit and loss analytics, budgeting, key performance indicator tracking, and other strategic business intelligence. The role requires leveraging Python and SQL to build and evolve complex profit and loss attribution and key performance indicator generation models, implementing automated reconciliation frameworks to ensure data integrity, managing cross-functional initiatives to modernize legacy FP&A models, and integrating best practices in data governance, version control, and testing across all FP&A technical development workflows.
Candidates should possess over six years of progressive data engineering experience with deep expertise in Python and SQL. Familiarity with various asset classes such as foreign exchange, futures, and options, and understanding their economic impact on a firm is essential. Strong analytical skills, experience working with large, unstructured datasets, and the ability to develop data pipelines to support insight generation are required. The role demands an intellectually curious self-starter who is comfortable in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Compensation for this position varies based on the level of hire. For Vice President level, the base salary ranges from $175,000 to $200,000, with a discretionary annual bonus on top. For Director level, the base salary ranges from $225,000 to $250,000, also with a discretionary annual bonus.
