Engineering Team Leader
Remote is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers, encompassing both backend and frontend disciplines. The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing team dynamics, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring optimized execution of projects. This role is pivotal in guiding the team towards achieving high-performance outcomes while aligning with Remote's mission to simplify global employment.
Key responsibilities include managing the team's workflow, participating in product development, and dedicating approximately 30% of time to management tasks. The Team Leader will be involved in hiring and onboarding processes, providing continuous and constructive feedback, and supporting the professional growth of team members. Additionally, the role involves redesigning engineering workflows with autonomous agents, proposing and operationalizing agentic workflows, and building reusable agentic workflows to enhance delivery speed and quality.
Candidates must have experience managing an engineering team of at least two people and possess extensive backend development experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming. A strong foundation in engineering principles, a proven track record of delivering secure and scalable production systems, and practical experience with agentic or automation workflows are essential. Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion are also required.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $75,450 to $169,700 USD.
