Engineering Manager (iOS)
OpenTable is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Front of House iOS team within the TMS line of business. This team is central to OpenTable's OT4R system, developing mission-critical software that enables restaurants to operate efficiently in high-paced dining environments. The role involves driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of in-restaurant and mobile products, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the outcomes and quality of the engineering team, continuously improving processes, and providing development updates to stakeholders. Key duties include growing engineers through feedback, mentoring, and coaching, as well as hiring new engineers as needed and assisting other teams with their hiring goals.
Candidates should have a strong software engineering background with at least 5 years of hands-on experience and 5 years of experience leading iOS engineering teams. A solid understanding of functional reactive programming concepts and MVVM patterns is essential. Proven experience in mentoring engineers, leading technical projects, and a desire to grow as a people manager are also required. The role demands a strong sense of ownership and accountability, comfort in architecting systems end-to-end, and proficiency in communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
