Engineering Manager II, Launchpad

Box is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead the Launchpad Engineering Team in Warsaw, Poland. This team is responsible for core product experience pillars, including the design system, accessibility, internationalization, and in-app guidance. The role involves driving a cohesive component library and tooling that accelerates product teams, improves UI consistency, and reduces maintenance costs across frontend applications.

The Engineering Manager II will lead a team of experienced engineers, defining the team's roadmap, execution plans, and taking ownership of project delivery. Responsibilities include developing team members through one-on-one meetings, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring. The role also involves organizing stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and managing sprint task statuses. Collaboration with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments is essential.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience managing front-end or platform teams and a total of 6–8 years in software development. Strong technical judgment in modern UI engineering, particularly with React and TypeScript, is required. Experience with design systems, accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA), and internationalization/localization fundamentals is essential. A proven track record in shipping and evolving shared platforms, such as component libraries and documentation sites, is also necessary. Effective stakeholder management and data-informed decision-making skills are important.
