Engineering Manager II
Box is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead and mentor engineering teams in Warsaw, Poland. This role involves spearheading significant technology initiatives and overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects across multiple architectural layers. The position is integral to enhancing Box's Cloud Content Management solutions and bridging communication between the US and Poland engineering hubs.
Key responsibilities include leading a team of experienced engineers, defining the team's roadmap and execution plans, and taking ownership of project delivery. The manager will develop team members through one-on-one meetings, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring. Additionally, the role involves organizing stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and managing sprint task statuses. Collaboration with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments is also essential.
The ideal candidate has over two years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services. They should possess at least five years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems. Proficiency in aligning and executing new technical ideas, understanding best practices, and driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment is required. Strong communication skills and a passion for technology are essential.
