Engineering Enablement Program Manager
The Engineering Enablement Program Manager at Klaviyo is responsible for developing systems, onboarding processes, and learning programs that enhance the productivity of engineers from their first day and throughout their tenure. This role focuses on designing an AI-first onboarding and enablement experience, standardizing engineering practices, and implementing experiments to improve developer velocity, quality, and satisfaction. The goal is to facilitate faster onboarding, reduce friction points, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Research and Development (R&D) department.
Key responsibilities include owning the engineering team onboarding process by designing and managing a comprehensive Day 0 through Day 30/60/90 experience that incorporates AI, including environments, access, labs, initial pull requests, and success metrics. The Program Manager will also enable the integration of AI into daily engineering workflows, such as backlog and pull request synthesis, and incident summaries. Additionally, the role involves codifying engineering practices, developing and scaling technical learning programs, enhancing engineering manager effectiveness, facilitating impactful live learning sessions, defining and tracking enablement success metrics, partnering on onboarding delivery and iteration, strengthening the recruiting-to-onboarding handoff, and promoting engineering culture and learning initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a technical practitioner and systems thinker with experience in software engineering or closely related fields, possessing a deep understanding of development tools and practices. They should be an effective communicator and facilitator, capable of creating clarity and reducing ambiguity. The role requires someone who is outcome-oriented, accountable, and collaborative across functions, with a preference for candidates having 5–8+ years of experience in software engineering, developer productivity, platform development, or engineering operations.
