Embedded Automotive Software Engineer
As an Embedded Automotive Software Engineer at Wayve, you will be part of the Embedded Automotive Platforms team, focusing on developing software interfaces for vehicle hardware. Wayve is a leader in Embodied AI technology, creating intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products to advance automated driving systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software for autonomous vehicle platforms, with an emphasis on sensor integration and hardware abstraction. You will implement and optimize device drivers for various sensors and computing hardware, collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements, and ensure seamless integration with the autonomous driving application stack. Additionally, you will debug and troubleshoot software issues to maintain high reliability and performance, participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation, and stay updated with industry trends in embedded systems and autonomous vehicle technology.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, along with proven experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive, autonomous driving, or robotics industries. Proficiency in C++ programming for high-performance systems, hands-on experience with embedded operating systems like Linux or QNX, and a strong understanding of middleware architectures and inter-process communication mechanisms are essential. Familiarity with hardware abstraction layers, device driver development, and sensor technologies such as LiDAR, RADAR, and cameras is also required. Strong debugging skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
