Director/Sr. Director, Business & Legal Affairs
The Director/Sr. Director of Business & Legal Affairs at NBCUniversal's Global TV Distribution division plays a pivotal role in managing the legal aspects of content licensing and distribution worldwide. This position involves close collaboration with sales executives and other business leaders to structure and negotiate complex licensing agreements across various media platforms, including linear television and digital/new media.
Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating content licensing agreements for television and digital customers in multiple media formats, such as linear free television, FAST, linear basic television, linear premium pay television, AVOD, SVOD, transactional VOD, EST, and other developing media. The role also entails providing strategic advice on deal structures, overseeing general legal and business practices, managing certain litigation matters, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to content distribution.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be a member of the New York bar or another U.S. state bar. The Director role requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience, while the Sr. Director role requires at least 7 years, including corporate/transactional experience at a major law firm and, ideally, in-house experience with similar responsibilities. Strong drafting and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal abilities are essential.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $200,000 per year, along with eligibility for bonuses and long-term incentives.
