Contracts Specialist, Intellectual Property
The Contracts Specialist position is part of NBCUniversal's Intellectual Property (IP) Innovation, Technology, and Policy team, which offers strategic legal and policy counsel across the company's global divisions. This team focuses on navigating disruptive technologies and negotiating transactions that leverage artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. The role involves close collaboration with the team's attorneys and administrative staff to support various agreements, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), AI-related contracts, and IP licenses.
Key responsibilities include independently drafting and reviewing a range of agreements such as NDAs, AI-related contracts, and IP licenses. The Contracts Specialist will prepare short-form license agreements and amendments, identify and resolve business and legal issues, and provide ongoing advice to clients and colleagues. Additionally, the role involves compiling and distributing training materials, developing tools to automate and track transactional processes, and maintaining policies and best practices to enhance efficiency and consistency within the team.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and have at least two years of relevant experience in a professional setting that demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail, preferably within a law firm or comparable corporate environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to master NBCUniversal's applications. Experience with AI tools and a keen interest in legal issues arising from new technologies are also important.
