Director, Product Design - Diner
OpenTable is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead the design efforts across our Diner Platform teams. This senior leadership role involves managing a global team of nine designers, including two direct reports, and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to enhance the dining experience for millions of users worldwide. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Product Design & Research.
The Director will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing design team, setting and driving design quality standards, and partnering with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to align on direction and deliver user-centric outcomes. Key responsibilities include defining a compelling design vision, improving design processes, and utilizing data to inform design decisions.
Candidates should have hands-on product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating impact at scale, deep expertise in both native apps and web experiences, exceptional visual design skills, and strong systems thinking. Strategic and communication skills are essential, including stakeholder management, storytelling, and experience in B2B design or other complex product spaces. A proven track record of growing designers and design managers, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement, is also required.
The role offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $275,000 annually, along with benefits such as health insurance, paid parental leave, generous paid vacation, and professional development opportunities.
