Director of Engineering - Growth & Engagement
Klaviyo is seeking a Director of Engineering for Growth & Engagement to lead a portfolio of product engineering teams focused on customer acquisition, activation, and engagement. This role involves overseeing three interconnected teams: K-Social, Growth, and Customer Hub, each dedicated to enhancing different facets of the customer journey. The Director will manage approximately 30 engineers, including multiple team leaders, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, Go-To-Market, and Support teams.
The primary responsibilities include developing and executing engineering strategies across the K-Social, Growth, and Customer Hub teams to align with Klaviyo's broader growth objectives. The Director will drive the evolution of K-Social by integrating social engagement data into customer profiles and building technical foundations for products like Social Auto-Replies and engagement intelligence. Additionally, the role involves enhancing the Growth portfolio by improving onboarding processes, facilitating free-to-paid conversions, and promoting cross-sell opportunities. The Director will also shape the Customer Hub into a personalized onsite experience that offers proactive support and intuitive self-service options.
Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with significant time spent leading multiple product engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS environment. Experience in managing managers and senior engineers is essential, along with a strong background in product-led growth initiatives, including onboarding, activation, conversion, and monetization strategies. Proficiency in building and scaling experimentation practices to drive product and business outcomes is also required. A product-oriented mindset, strong understanding of user experience, and data-driven operational approach are crucial for success in this role.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $244,000 to $366,000 annually, depending on factors such as skills, experience, education, and work location. In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include participation in the company's annual cash bonus plan, equity options, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits.
