Cybersecurity Administrator II - CUI
The Cybersecurity Administrator II at Ursa Major is a technical leadership role focused on overseeing the organization's cybersecurity strategy, particularly in mitigating risks associated with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). This position involves managing advanced security infrastructure, conducting high-level risk assessments, and implementing security policies to ensure compliance with federal regulations such as NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC. The role is integral to protecting sensitive data flows and reducing the likelihood of significant cyber incidents.
Key responsibilities include conducting high-level risk assessments and threat modeling focused on CUI and Federal Contract Information (FCI), developing and advancing comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, and collaborating with stakeholders and external vendors to embed risk management and CUI handling protocols into organizational processes. The administrator will also establish and enforce advanced security policies and protocols to meet stringent federal data protection standards.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on risk management and federal data protection. A Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience is also acceptable. Extensive experience with government contracts and a deep understanding of federal cybersecurity regulations, particularly NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC, are essential. Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred, along with advanced proficiency in security technologies like SIEM, firewalls, and IDS/IPS. Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills are crucial for bridging the gap between technical requirements and management goals.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $94,000 to $117,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
