Credit Underwriter
Capital on Tap is seeking a Credit Underwriter to join our dynamic team in London. As a key player in our credit underwriting department, you will be instrumental in evaluating lending applications and financial data to make informed credit decisions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing fintech company dedicated to supporting small businesses.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include reviewing lending applications, conducting credit reviews of existing customers, and facilitating changes in underwriting strategy. You will collaborate with internal teams to make credit decisions and support risk initiatives by analyzing credit data. Additionally, you will perform periodic reviews of individual bad debts to provide insights into the portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of underwriting experience, including a minimum of six months with a mandate in either secured or unsecured lending. Experience in commercial lending is essential, along with a strong analytical instinct to interpret financials and identify inconsistencies. Familiarity with fintech or high-growth business environments is preferred, as well as the ability to work autonomously and a genuine interest in understanding the rationale behind policies.
