Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian commercial law firm, is seeking a Credit Controller to join their Finance team in Sydney. Established in 1988, the firm has grown to over 500 lawyers and is renowned for its expertise in transactions, disputes, and regulation. The Finance team, integral to the firm's operations, comprises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing Specialists, Collections, Practice Managers, a Management Accountant, System Analyst, and Payroll professionals.

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the firm's collections, preparing monthly debtor reconciliations, processing credit notes, reconciling client accounts, reviewing new client account approvals, and distributing monthly statements. Regular meetings with partners and executive assistants will be essential to ensure effective communication and collaboration. The role requires a proactive approach to managing the team's shared inbox and supporting various aspects of accounts receivable and credit control.

Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a similar role within a professional services environment, with strong communication and organizational skills. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is crucial, along with a positive, proactive attitude. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required, and experience with 3E is desirable but not essential. A TAFE Diploma in Finance or Credit is preferred.
