Country Controller

Wolt is seeking an experienced Country Controller to oversee its accounting operations in Kazakhstan. This role is integral to ensuring local compliance and reporting accuracy, while supporting the local teams with accounting-related inquiries. The Country Controller will be based in Almaty, reporting to the Regional Financial Controller and collaborating closely with the centralized Finance team at Wolt's headquarters.

Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of Wolt Kazakhstan's accounting, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting, preparing annual financial statements, and fulfilling other statutory reporting requirements. The role also involves creating fully reconciled financial positions, leading local and global finance initiatives, implementing financial processes, and ensuring compliance with global policies. Maintaining and strengthening relationships with local auditors, authorities, and senior management both locally and internationally is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a chartered accountant with local statutory accounting and tax compliance. A solid background in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a multinational company, is required. A master's degree in accounting or CPA/ACCA qualification, along with an active Chartered Accountant Certification, is essential. Experience with IFRS is advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate autonomous problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable handling both daily tasks and larger projects, and possess excellent MS Excel skills. Prior experience with NetSuite is a plus. Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
